Feature Profile — Aviation Writer and Photographer

Born in Tokyo in 1957,

I grew up with an unshakable fascination for airplanes. By my upper elementary school years, I was already spending my weekends at Haneda Airport and Yokota Air Base, camera in hand, capturing every aircraft that crossed the sky.

After joining a transportation and travel company, I career took  abroad — with more than 13 years spent in Europe (The Netherlands) and the United States. Wherever I went, my passion for aviation followed. 

At 55, he decided to turn that lifelong passion into a second career. Leaving the corporate world behind, I joined a publishing company to refine my writing and editorial skills.

In 2014, I launched a long-running magazine series titled “Aviation Museums,” based on decades of research on World War II aircraft. My articles capture the excitement of visiting these museums — blending aviation history, field interviews, and vivid photography to bring readers closer to the machines and people that shaped the story of flight. 

Covering aviation museums and photographing historic warbirds have since become my life’s work. My bylines appear regularly in Japan’s leading aviation magazines, including Monthly Airline and Monthly J Wings (Ikaros Publications), and Monthly Aviation Information (Sekirei-sha). Many of my features center on the 260-plus aviation museums I have personally visited worldwide.

I also maintain strong relationships with international aviation publishers, contributing coverage of Japan’s airshows and aviation trends to audiences around the world.
